Solar Photovoltaic Panels on Public Toilets

Solar Photovoltaic Panels on Community Toilets

The community toilets within Kinlochleven are cleaned and maintained by the Trust and there is a high level of work and cost to keep these facilities running for the public. Anything to help reduce the running costs of the facility are getting looked into and an idea that was decided upon was the installation of solar photovoltaic panels of the roof of the toilets.

Funding and planning permission are being sought for the solar panel installation and once this has been approved, the installation can begin. Once installed, the solar panels will provide hot water for the hand basins which will save electricity costs and any surplus electricity that is produced can be sold to the Grid, leaving more money for the Trust to put back into the local community.
