On Saturday 18th January, 13 willing KCT volunteers took to the the spades, hoes, loppers and chainsaws to help clear up the Riverside walk. We were fortunate enough to have a dry day for a change and focused on removing large overhanging branches, edging and litter picking. With just 3 hours of hard work from our dedicated volunteers, we managed to clear half of the path from the steps at the Fire Station, all the way down to behind the school. Following this, Scottish and Southern Energy Networks (SSEN) took down their chipper to dispose of the branches that had been cut down, leaving the walk clean and tidy. We want to thank our volunteers and SSEN for helping the Trust to keep Kinlochleven’s paths accessible for all in the village and beyond.
We will hopefully clear the remaining half of the path from the school to the composting site later next month.
Here are a selection of before and after pictures.
